Reflect/Adoption

20/21

Reflect/adoption started off as a personal self-reflection on my adoption experience. After stumbling upon a handwritten note I wrote at age nine to my birth mother, I realized I have never taken the time to sit down and reflect on my adoption story. Over the past 24 years, I’ve accumulated memories, photos, and thoughts regarding my experience but scattered everywhere - physically and emotionally. I knew as an adoptee, I wasn’t alone.

Reflect/adoption is the go-to app for adoptees to reflect on their adoption, communicate with other adoptees, design a memory book with pictures they have preserved, and more.

Mobile App:
Reflect/adoption app has everything an adoptee needs at their fingertips. With this app, the adoptee can self-reflect with the record section or open up and share their thoughts and feeling with other adoptees with the connect section. The blog is a great resource for any question and the memory book is available to create online or print and create in person.

The app design is elegant and mimics a scrapbook feel. The forward and backward slashes are placed thoughtfully in the design representing reflecting forwards and backward.

Book:
Reflect/adoption book is an 8x8 hardcover memory book with 40-50 pages full of prompts and blank pages for the adoptee to fill in. The adoptee has this book forever and can look back and reflect on their adoption story.
